The low-top sneakers Riva are made through a vulcanization process that glues the raw natural rubber sole to the upper, granting the durability and comfort of this style. Vulcanization was first used in the production of military footwear, however, due to the flexibility and resistance of this kind of construction method, it was early adopted by climbers, skaters and surfers.
These shoes are perfect to spend a day on a yacht, for sailing in a vessel, or just for taking a pleasant walk around the marina, since they fit properly with the on board dress code, that suggests the use of flat white rubber-soled shoes. Riva sneakers are made of recycled cotton, natural india rubber and a fully breathable insole. An organic cork sheet, together with the viscoelastic blanket, sits inside the shoe and create a comfortable layer between the sole and the wearer’s foot. To clean the outsole, use a cloth lightly moistened with a mild soap solution. The cotton canvas can be softly brushed to remove the dust. You can also use wet cleaning wipes.
